Unlike final-stage proofreading alone, this package begins with a full academic copyedit. I work through the manuscript at the sentence level for clarity, consistency, flow, concision, grammar, syntax, and academic register while preserving your meaning and scholarly voice.
At dissertation scale, however, sentence-level editing is only part of the work.

A Living Dissertation Style Sheet
I create and maintain a master editorial style sheet for the doctoral project.
This records decisions such as preferred terminology, spelling variant, abbreviations, capitalisation, statistical conventions, recurring names and concepts, formatting choices, citation conventions, and other matters that benefit from consistency.
The style sheet develops alongside the research rather than being reconstructed at the very end.
Editorial Support for Individual Articles
Unpublished article manuscripts can be edited as they become ready for journal submission.
Each article is still treated according to the requirements of its target journal, because journal-specific conventions take precedence where necessary. At the same time, I retain awareness of the wider dissertation and the editorial decisions already established elsewhere in the project.
Individual articles are quoted and booked separately as they become ready rather than being prepaid years in advance.
Continuity Across the Research Project
As the project develops, I can track recurring terminology, abbreviations, theoretical concepts, methodological descriptions, participant or dataset terminology, stylistic conventions, and other elements that recur across the articles.
This does not mean forcing every paper into identical wording. Different journals and research questions may legitimately require different presentation.
The purpose is to recognise unintentional drift and maintain continuity where consistency is genuinely useful.
Synthesis or Summary Editing
When the synthesis is ready, I can edit it with existing knowledge of the component articles and the editorial decisions made throughout the project.
That context makes it easier to identify inconsistencies in terminology, article descriptions, methodological information, publication details, abbreviations, and references between the synthesis and the wider body of work.
The synthesis receives the same careful academic copyediting appropriate to the final dissertation.
Final Dissertation Integration
Once the dissertation has been assembled, I review the complete doctoral document as a whole.
This includes the relationship between the synthesis and component publications, front matter, publication lists, article metadata, terminology, references, cross-references, tables and figures, appendices, formatting, and institutional requirements.
The final dissertation therefore benefits from an editorial history that may extend back through the earlier stages of the project.
Final Proofing & Examination Support
After the final dissertation copyedit and your author revisions, the complete document receives the proofreading stage included in the Doctoral Dissertation Editorial Package.
If textual corrections are subsequently required following examination, the included post-examination proofread provides one further quality-control stage before the final version is deposited or published.

The package is designed for a dissertation that has reached a substantially complete late-stage draft.
Your research, overall argument, and major structural decisions should generally already be established. The manuscript does not need to be flawless, because full copyediting is included, but this is not a replacement for doctoral supervision or developmental restructuring of the research itself.
If significant chapters are still unwritten or your supervisors expect major structural revision, it may be better to wait before beginning the full dissertation edit.
