The Manuscript Preparation Suite is designed for theses, doctoral dissertations, academic books and other substantial scholarly manuscripts that have already undergone their main content revisions and are approaching submission or publication.
Rather than proofreading language in isolation, I examine the manuscript as a complete editorial document. Spelling, grammar and punctuation receive careful attention alongside reference accuracy, terminology, headings, numbering, tables, figures, front matter and document formatting.
Its distinctive element is the Final Submission Integrity Check: a coordinated final review of the manuscript's internal consistency and presentation against the institutional or publisher guidance you provide. It identifies issues that can be easily missed when individual sections are checked separately.

Who is the Manuscript Preparation Suite for?
It is designed for well-developed master's theses, doctoral dissertations, scholarly books and other long-form academic manuscripts approaching submission or publication. The deciding factor is the manuscript's editorial condition, not the author's qualification or the document's length alone.
How does it differ from the Manuscript Refinement Suite?
Preparation centres on proofreading, reference checking, formatting and the Final Submission Integrity Check. It is suited to writing that is already clear and structurally settled. The Manuscript Refinement Suite includes deeper copyediting, with a separate later proofreading stage, for work requiring more substantial improvements to language and expression.
What is the Final Submission Integrity Check?
It is a coordinated final review of the document as a whole, not a second substantive edit. I check residual inconsistencies across language, citations, references, numbering, headings, front matter, tables, figures and presentation, and review them against the manuscript requirements provided. Anything requiring your judgement is identified in the readiness report.
When should I book the suite?
Ideally, after the main content and structural revisions are complete and before the final submission deadline. If a supervisor, examiner or publisher is still likely to request extensive rewriting, it may be more economical to book later or use the Refinement Suite at the appropriate stage.
Can you follow my university's or publisher's requirements?
Yes, where you provide the relevant guidelines. I can review the document's formatting and presentation against those requirements, and query points that are unclear or outside the agreed editorial scope. No editorial service can guarantee acceptance by an institution or publisher.
Does the suite include reference checking?
Yes. I check in-text citations and reference entries for correspondence, consistency, completeness and compliance with the agreed referencing style. Any external source verification will follow the scope set out in your quotation; I will flag unverifiable or missing bibliographic information rather than invent it.
Does it include document formatting or book typesetting?
Document formatting is included: headings, styles, spacing, pagination, tables, front matter and other presentation details within the agreed requirements. Professional book typesetting for printed or ebook publication is a separate specialist task and is not included in this suite. If that is what your book requires, consider the Scholarly Publication Suite.
Will you change my research or academic voice?
No. I correct language and presentation conservatively, preserving your findings, meaning and voice. I do not develop research arguments, supply scholarly content or make decisions that belong to you or your supervisor. Ambiguities are queried.
Can you work in UK or US English?
Yes. I work in both UK and US English and follow the variant required by your university, publisher or agreed style guide. I also work with researchers writing in English as an additional language, provided the manuscript is ready for proofreading rather than extensive rewriting.
Is a language revision certificate included?
Yes. I can provide a certificate stating the professional language work undertaken. If your university requires specific wording or an institutional form, please supply it before work begins so I can confirm that it is appropriate to complete.
Does this include proofreading after examination?
Not as a standard second stage. The Preparation Suite concludes with its agreed final-delivery round. If you expect extensive post-examination revisions and want a separate proofread afterwards, the Manuscript Refinement Suite may be a better fit, or an additional proofreading stage can be quoted separately.
Can you invoice my institution directly?
Yes, where institutional purchasing and invoicing arrangements permit. If your university requires a cost centre, project number, purchase order or specific invoice details, please mention that when requesting a quotation.
What if I only need one service?
